Google will reroute Gemini 2.5 Pro and Flash requests to newer models on December 1, 2026. Plus AlloyDB ScaNN indexes, SQL Server migrations, Cloud SDK breaking changes and three more, in Tuesday's cloud updates.

The reroute goes to gemini-3.8-flash and gemini-3.5-flash-lite at their rates, and it brings breaking API changes, so check your code before then.

From Google Cloud, AlloyDB ScaNN four-level indexes now support tables with up to 10 billion vector rows, with automatic index maintenance.

Database Migration Service can now move SQL Server Distributed Availability Groups to Cloud SQL without exporting backup files.

Cloud SDK now requires Java 25 for the Datastore and Firestore emulators, and its Docker images drop system Python and gcc.

Over at AWS, Quick Sight Readers are upgraded to the Quick Essentials plan at no extra per-user cost, with AI chat, Research, Flows and Apps.

From OpenAI, eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business subscribers can now claim up to $500 monthly in free API credits.

Over on Azure, the Log Analytics logging destination in Container Apps becomes legacy, so migrate to the Azure Monitor destination.

So, that's Tuesday. The one to act on: Cloud SDK breaking changes by November 3, 2026.
