On November 1, 2026, several Canadian provinces and territories—Manitoba,
Alberta, British Columbia, and parts of the Northwest Territories—transition to
permanent daylight saving time (DST) or remain on their summer UTC offsets
year-round. On unpatched Looker instances, these changes affect
scheduled content delivery fire times and table
calculations that use now() with the
affected Canadian time zones (America/Winnipeg, Canada/Central,
America/Rainy_River, America/Edmonton, Canada/Mountain,
America/Vancouver, Canada/Pacific, and America/Inuvik). Patched
Looker builds update the scheduler (Ruby) and browser
(JavaScript) time zone data, while server-evaluated now() table calculations
on the JVM still use the bundled JDK time zone database (tzdb 2026b). To learn
how to upgrade to a patched Looker build or configure an
alternative schedule delivery time zone, see 2026 Canadian time zone
changes.
