Looker (Google Cloud core) data lineage and Looker-managed MCP server generally available
Looker (Google Cloud core) data lineage is now generally available (GA). The GA launch adds end-to-end visibility for LookML dashboards and Conversational Analytics agents. Lineage enablement is now managed independently through the Data Lineage API and service-level ingestion controls, which decouples it from Looker's internal Knowledge Catalog metadata settings. For more information, see About data lineage.
The Looker-managed Model Context Protocol (MCP) server is now generally available (GA), allowing AI agents to securely interact with business data and LookML models without the need for additional middleware. This launch is supported by a new Manage OAuth Clients admin page, which provides a centralized interface for governing identity-based access for AI agents and other external applications. Administrators can now quickly enable pre-configured integrations from the Application Library or register custom OAuth clients with specific redirect URIs and group-based access controls.
