Looker adds Dremio 26.0+ dialect support and Diagnose & Repair tool for LookML projects
Looker now includes built-in support for the Dremio 26.0+ (Arrow Flight SQL) dialect. The Dremio 26.0+ (Arrow Flight SQL) uses the bundled Apache Arrow Flight SQL JDBC driver, so that you don't have to install unpackaged custom JDBC driver JAR files. See the Dremio documentation page for more information.
The AI-Assisted Quick Starts feature, called Starter questions in the new Explore experience, is now generally available.
The new Diagnose & Repair tool evaluates your LookML project repository across eight diagnostic test checks in either your personal development environment or the shared production environment. When issues are found, Looker can automatically perform repairs (such as removing stale lock files, fixing file permissions, or repairing corrupted object indexes) or rebuild damaged repositories while safeguarding uncommitted changes on a dedicated recovery branch.
Looker Continuous Integration (CI) now includes the Style Validator, which enforces LookML coding standards, naming conventions, and structural best practices across your LookML project. You can run the Style Validator with the default built-in ruleset or customize rule severities, file exclusions, path overrides, and custom rules by adding an lkmlstyle.yaml configuration file to your project repository.
Now available in preview, Conversational Analytics agentic workflows support scheduled agentic workflows in addition to triggered agentic workflows. You can use scheduled agentic workflows to schedule recurring deliveries of AI-generated insights summaries, data tables, visualizations, and PDF reports to email or Slack by using natural language. Recipients can select Investigate in a workflow notification to open a private, persistent conversation with the data agent.
Users and admins can manage workflows on the updated Manage Workflows user page and Manage Workflows admin page, respectively, and Looker admins can monitor scheduled workflow runs and troubleshoot errors on the new Workflow Executions admin page.
Workflows that were created in versions earlier than Looker 26.14 appear on the Legacy Workflows tab and must be recreated.
Now available in preview, Looker Data Apps are freeform canvas dashboards that are built by local AI coding agents, such as Gemini CLI, Claude Code, or Cursor, from natural-language prompts. Data Apps give you complete visual layout control (including absolute positioning, overlapping elements, and custom web components) while remaining bound to Looker's governed LookML semantic layer and user permissions.
Looker now supports connections to the ClickHouse 26+ dialect. ClickHouse 26+ uses modernized JDBC drivers and introduces support for symmetric aggregates. See the ClickHouse documentation page for more information.
Enhanced observability metrics, including user engagement and estimated token usage data on the Token usage tab of the Conversational Analytics System Activity dashboard, are now generally available (GA). This launch also adds a Daily Token Utilization visualization and supports token usage observability for Conversational Analytics data agents that are published to Gemini Enterprise.
