Looker adds per-feature Conversational Analytics settings, dashboard agents GA

The Gemini in Looker admin page has been restructured to allow Looker admins to selectively enable Conversational Analytics features and capabilities. Enablement for generally available Conversational Analytics features is now organized under the follow settings:

  • Conversational Analytics (Conversations page): Enables access to the Conversations page for data agents with Explores and direct chats with an Explore.
  • Dashboard agents: Enables default data agents on user-defined and LookML dashboards.
  • Additional options: Allows Conversational Analytics data agent creators to enable the Advanced Analytics feature for all conversations with their data agent. To use Advanced Analytics, you must also enable whichever Conversational Analytics toggle corresponds to the content that you are querying (Conversational Analytics (Conversations page) or Dashboard agents). If both the Conversational Analytics (Conversations page) and Dashboard agents toggles are turned off, then Advanced Analytics cannot be enabled. If either Conversational Analytics (Conversations page) or Dashboard agents is enabled, Advanced Analytics can be enabled, but it is turned off by default.

The Conversational Analytics (Conversations page) and Dashboard agents settings inherit the enablement state of the Conversational Analytics setting in previous versions of Looker.

Conversational Analytics preview features can still be enabled selectively under the Enable Trusted Tester Features setting.

Conversational Analytics data agents for both user-defined dashboards and LookML dashboards are now generally available.

You can now apply themes to Looks in addition to internal dashboards.
