Public Preview: Azure SQL updates for mid-February 2026

In mid-February 2026, the following updates and enhancements were made to Azure SQL:

  • Simplify SQL deployments from Visual Studio Code using the new SQL Projects Publish dialog.

  • Connections Migration dialog enables you to import your existing workflows and connections from Azure Data Studio to Visual Studio Code.

  • Azure SQL Database failover groups now support from one to four secondaries, making it easier to design and deploy a disaster recovery topology spanning multiple regions.
