ExpressRoute Scalable Gateway (ErGwScale) is our next-generation offering that brings flexibility, performance, and operational simplicity to Virtual Network Gateway deployments. With this release, you can dynamically scale gateway infrastructure to meet real-time traffic demands. 

What’s new 

• Dynamic scaling: Deploy ErGwScale to achieve up to 40 Gbps of connectivity for virtual machines and private endpoints within your virtual network. 
• Auto scaling: Configure minimum and maximum scale units, and Azure automatically adjusts capacity based on bandwidth and flow demand—delivering efficiency and eliminating manual tuning. 
• Fixed scale option: For predictable workloads, set a steady scale to maintain consistent bandwidth for stable traffic patterns. 
• FastPath + gateway coexistence: ErGwScale complements FastPath for scenarios where FastPath isn’t supported—such as high-bandwidth or complex routing cases—ensuring seamless performance. 

This offering introduces elastic scaling, zero-downtime upgrades, and enterprise-grade reliability, making it ideal for hybrid connectivity and demanding workloads.
