Public Preview: Azure Cosmos DB MCP ToolKit for Microsoft Foundry Agent Service

Azure Cosmos DB for NoSQL now offers an MCP Toolkit that can be used with Microsoft Foundry Agent Service, available today in public preview. 

 

This new integration allows you to connect Microsoft Foundry Agents directly to data in Azure Cosmos DB. By deploying the Azure Cosmos DB MCP Toolkit Server in your Azure environment, you can enable your agents to perform secure data operations and run semantic searches within Azure Cosmos DB. 

 

The toolkit includes multiple ready-to-use tools that simplify setup and configuration, helping your agents discover data and retrieve the right information for reasoning and task execution. You can now build data-aware agents that respond to user requests with information drawn from live operational data. The integration in Microsoft Foundry Agents Service makes it easy to connect to the MCP server and get started. 

 

With vector search, full-text search, and high-performance NoSQL capabilities built into Azure Cosmos DB, your AI solutions can deliver faster and more contextually relevant results at a global scale.
