Public Preview: Container network metrics filtering in Advanced Container Networking Services for (ACNS) for AKS

Container network metrics filtering in Azure Container Networking Services (ACNS) is now available in public preview.

In containerized environments, the ingestion of excessive network metrics can lead to inflated storage costs and cluttered dashboards, making it difficult to maintain observability efficiency. Azure Container Networking Services (ACNS) now offers container network metrics filtering, available in public preview, to address this challenge. 

This new capability enables users to define fine-grained filters at the Cilium level using a Custom Resource Definition (CRD), allowing metrics collection to be scoped by namespace or pod. By filtering metrics before they reach Prometheus, organizations can significantly reduce data volume, lower operational overhead, and improve the clarity of their observability tools.
