Generally Available: Planned Failover for Azure Storage

Planned Failover is a customer-managed failover that provides the ability to failover your geo-redundant storage account while keeping geo-redundancy and data durability. You can seamlessly swap the primary and secondary storage endpoints of your geo-redundant account. After the Planned Failover is completed, all new write operations will be directed to the original secondary region, which will serve as the new primary region. Planned Failover can be utilized in a variety of scenarios including disaster recovery drills, partial outages where storage remains healthy or proactive disaster preparation. It is now generally available for GPv2 storage accounts and is compatible with Blob, ADLS Gen2, Table, File, and Queue data.
