Public Preview: Azure SQL updates for early November 2025


In early November 2025, the following updates and enhancements were made to Azure SQL:  

  • Azure SQL Hyperscale now supports multiple geo-secondary replicas, making it easier to design and deploy disaster recovery topology spanning multiple regions. Learn more. 

  • Azure SQL Database enables you to restart your database in the Azure portal.  The portal uses the same API that is available for PowerShell, REST, and Azure CLI.  Learn more.
