Generally Available: Custom port support for Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server
You can now configure a custom port (25001–26000) during server creation for both public and private access-enabled servers—enabling you to integrate more easily with existing applications and improve alignment with security postures. By default, MySQL servers operate on port 3306.
Feature highlights:
Custom port configuration. Specify a port of your choice in the 25001–26000 range during server provisioning.
One port per server. Only one custom port per server is supported.
Supported scenarios:
Server creation
Restore (including cross-port restore)
Read replica creation
High availability (HA) with custom port
Current limitations:
Custom ports can’t be changed after they’re created.
Geo-restore and geo-replication aren’t yet supported.
