Generally Available: Send a Custom Event from the Azure Monitor OpenTelemetry Distro

Custom Events offer developers a way to track user or system actions that matter to their business or observability objectives. For example, a developer may want to track an end-user action such as selecting a button, submitting a form, or completing a purchase. These events can be sliced and diced in Application Insights Experiences including the Usage Analysis Views. Custom Events have long been a staple of Azure Monitor Application Insights.
